Graduates should have recently graduated or be due to complete
relevant (commerce/accounting/finance) tertiary qualifications.

What is
the selection process?

Step 1 –
application process
You can submit your application online via
our website. You will be prompted
to complete a short
application form
and upload your cover letter, CV and university academic transcript.
The HR team and senior client service staff
review the applications to decide if your skills, experience and
qualifications match
our selection criteria.

Step 2 – first
interview
Held in the McGrathNicol office, our group information and
interview sessions involve a number of presentations from our staff followed by
a mix and mingle interview session.

Step 3 – second
interview
If successful, candidates are invited back for a second
interview which is the final stage of our selection process. This interview
will involve meeting at least one partner and a senior member of our client
service team. The interview will be
followed by a case study assessment.
How do I
apply for a position? What is the closing date?
Students can apply for a Graduate or Vacation position by
clicking Apply now. You will
be required to complete a short application form, upload your cover letter, CV
and most recent academic transcript. Graduate applications open in February and
Vacation applications open in July. Closing dates differ between each office,
and can be found on the Calendar dates page.
Do you
have opportunities for international students?
No, we do not offer Graduate or Vacation positions to candidates
without Australian citizenship or permanent residency at the time of
application.
What
type of training do you provide?
We have 3 types: CA, soft skills and technical.
Upon commencement with McGrathNicol all Graduates from around
Australia attend a training course in Melbourne. This interactive course outlines the
professional development opportunities available for Graduates,
as well the professional practice standards adopted by McGrathNicol and
provides an opportunity to network with fellow colleagues from around the country.
In addition, employees have a number of external training courses they can
attend throughout the year, such as business writing skills, IT training, time
management, communication and presentation skills, and client interviewing
skills. At McGrathNicol continuous learning is part of our culture and all
employees have the opportunity to participate in extensive, personalised
professional development programs.
