Ben Cornish

National Security Risk expert specialising in Counter Foreign Interference and Insider Threat risk mitigation.

Ben leads the firm’s National Security Risk practice in Adelaide, providing specialised advice on the full spectrum of national security risks faced by Australian government and industry. With over 20 years of experience, Ben is known as an industry leader with a particular focus on Counter Foreign Interference and Insider Threat risk mitigation, strategy advice and investigations.

Ben operates across corporate, government and industry sectors to help shape and influence clients’ security and risk awareness, strategies and security culture enhancement, as well as leading highly complex and sensitive investigations and advising on national security threats and mitigation strategies.

Ben has extensive experience operating and leading teams in dynamic, high stress and complex environments, reporting to the highest levels of government and industry. He is a skilled and influential communicator and champion in the areas of National Security threat and risk management.

With his experience in the National Security space, both in the Australian government and private sectors, Ben has most recently worked as the Security and Risk Program Manager and Deputy Chief Information Security Officer for a Defence Industry Prime. He managed a team of security and risk specialists, tasked with supporting the company and external clients to identify and mitigate security risks and enhance their security maturity, resilience and culture.

Ben is also Co-Chair of the AustCyber South Australia Node Advisory Board, a committee member of the Australian Information Security Association – Adelaide Branch and a founding member of the Defence Industry Primes’ Chief Information Security Officer Advisory Group.
